Modern medicine. Traditional therapies. Harnessing the healing power of food.

Naturopathy

Naturopathic medicine is a unique system of healthcare that takes an integrative approach to health and well-being. It is a system that combines modern medicine with traditional therapies to address the root causes of disease, in order to treat people with acute and chronic conditions.

Naturopathic medicine focuses on disease prevention and health optimization. It takes a wellness centred approach to health rather than a disease centred approach, and puts the person at the forefront. Utilizing the best available research, as well as clinical experience, naturopathic medicine utilizes  a variety of modalities to help people achieve their health goals. These may include clinical nutrition, physical medicine, botanical medicine, Traditional Asian Medicine, psychology, and lifestyle counselling.

Naturopathic Doctors are naturally trained, and medically focused. They are primary health care providers, with much of the same capabilities as a conventional Medical Doctor. A three- or four- year undergraduate degree must be completed prior to applying to the four-year Doctor of Naturopathy program. Naturopathic Doctors graduate from accredited schools, and are regulated and licensed based on their jurisdiction.

Naturopathic medicine embraces the healing power of nature and further, the power of the body to heal itself when provided the right conditions. I take my time with you in order to understand your complexities and obtain your story. This allows me to approach your health in the most individualized and effective way to ensure long-term wellness.

The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.

Nutrition

Nutrition is an integral part of Naturopathic medicine, and the foundation of good health. I make it my focus. Whole food nutrition, depending on your life stage and circumstances, is vital to the success of any health goal. The most sustainable form of medicine — no fancy supplements, no expensive tools, just you and your grocery cart.

Nutrition is near and dear to my heart and my practice. I have a passion for it beyond measure, and I make it my job to remain up to date and clinically relevant. Nutrition counselling involves an in-depth assessment and analysis of current eating habits, identification of major goals, and an individualized guide harnessing the healing power of food.

Naturopathic medicine and nutrition counselling are not mutually exclusive. However, with specific, focused, and effective nutrition guidance, I can truly help you achieve long-term wellness.

I passionately focus in the areas of weight management, digestion, mental health, and wellness optimization.
